Service Terms and Conditions

As the trip is weather permitting it is very important that you contact us the day before after 14h30 and before 16h00 with a final weather confirmation. The onus is on you to contact us.
The office hours are from 9.30am to 5pm. Please do not phone after 6pm unless there is an emergency. Office: 021 786 5717 or 072 997 7996.

PLANES & TRAINS DON’T WAIT ~ NOR DO BOATS!! ~ Any guests not on time will regrettably be left behind. NO REFUNDS UNFORTUNATELY WILL BE MADE FOR guests who are late.

Cancellation Policy

If the trip is cancelled due to inclement weather there is NO charge. This decision is made by the skipper and is based on wind and swell conditions. We will try to reschedule you if we have availability.
1-5 guests:
30 days or more before the time of start date: no cancellation fee
Less than 30 days before start date: 50% of the fee
Less than 15 days before start date : 100% of the fee
No show or late arrival: 100% of the fee
6+ guests & Exclusive Charters:
A non-refundable 50% deposit upon booking. Refunded only on bad weather cancellation
Full payment is due 60 days prior. Cancellation hereafter is 100% of the fee.

Payment
Payment will be taken the day before upon weather confirmation.
Due to rising credit card fraud worldwide some credit card companies now require that you let them know what dates you will be traveling abroad. This is not just for us to accept card payments but should you wish to use your credit card anywhere in South Africa.
Terms and Conditions
A) 1 – 5 guests: Credit card secures the booking. Marine Dynamics - Payment will be taken upon your arrival at the meeting point. All other operators - payment wil be taken the day before upon weather confirmation from the credit card provided. If you wish to pay in cash, please advise your Apex consultant.
B) 6+ guests: 50% non-refundable deposit with the balance 60 days before the trip date. Should the trip be cancelled due to weather, the payment will be refunded 100%.

Payment options accepted
Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, credit cards for online bookings. Bank transfers or cash will only be accepted for direct bookings into the Apex Shark Expeditions bank account, the details of which will be provided on request
Credit card acquiring and security
Credit card transactions will be acquired for Apex Shark Expeditions via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gatewa. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.
Customer details separate from card details
Customer details will be stored by Apex Shark Expeditions separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za

Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction Currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

Refunds
NOTE: All payment is taken in ZAR and all refunds are in ZAR. Apex Shark Expeditions has no control of the difference in the exchange rate.
